The Brief History of Japanese Animation 

Looking into the history of Japanese animation, we can see it surfacing somewhere around the start of the 20th century. During that time, the Japanese filmmakers were seen experimenting with some animation techniques that were also pioneering in the United States, Russia, Germany and France. The oldest known anime in the the history of Japanese animation is a very short clip  of a samurai trying to experiment with a new sword.

A couple of the early pioneers in Japanese anime were Seitarō Kitayama, Jun'ichi Kouchi and himokawa Ote. As we trace back the brief history of Japanese animation, we will see that by 1930, animation had become a popular way of storytelling. Sev developed great improvements in their animations techniques but still faced tough competition from their western counterparts. Help and motivation from the government as well as education in the field led to speedy improvements in the style of Japanese animes. Chikara to Onna no Yo no Naka, developed by Masaoka was o the first animation in 1933 as per the history of Japanese animation.

In the 1960s, Osamu Tezuka, the manga artist and animator, tried to adapt and simplify many Disney animation-techniques. He not only tried to limit the costs, but also tried to curb the number of frames in productions. Tracing back the brief history of Japanese animation, the seventies saw a great surge in the popularity of Japanese animes. The pioneers in the field inspired the special characteristics and genres that to date remain unique about Japanese animation. The robot genre of anime still remains one of the most popular and best Japanese animes.

With a couple of successful adaptations of anime in markets abroad, the Japanese anime gained increased acceptance and popularity worldwide and even more in the  21st century.
